This awesome ab series literally takes roughly 2:30 to get through. It’s 5 consecutive moves, held for :30 a piece. I snuck in 3 series before Hayden work up, but I would have liked to have done 5. My abs are ALWAYS a work in progress. They’re super strong after #100fitdays but I can’t get the little squishy layer on top to GO AWAY!! Maybe it’s 2 kids, maybe it’s all the pizza and beer that I love…I wouldn’t trade either of those for the world, so I plank. A lot.
There are some really effective macro based dieting plans out there that could probably turn my 2-4 pack (depends on the day) into a 6-8 pack but I’m honestly not ready to put that much effort into my diet. I eat as healthy as I can 70% of the day. That’s all I have the time or energy for at this point in life. I did figure out recently that, at my weight and height, I should be eating 1700 calories a day. I used My Fitness Pal (super quick & easy to use) to enter in my food for the day. I was pretty close to my target calories, but I learned a lot about making choices! SUNFLOWER SEEDS are the DEVIL. The quick scoop on my veggie sandwich to make it crunchy is not worth the 310 calories and 29 grams of fat! My new rule of thumb is anything crunchy (granola, nuts etc) are really high in fat, so it’s just a trade off choice to make on the daily.
My other favorite thing that I stumbled across this week was the quote below! Yes, I know how much sunflower seeds now rock my world and yes I envy those moms who have the super flat abs, but at the end of the day I have to put all that aside and keep my focus on feeling great and having confidence about who I am inside and out. Life is much bigger than swimsuit season!
Looking back I still can’t believe that I’ve worked out for 100 days in a row, but if I scroll through my Instagram account, it’s really true! I started this #100fitdays challenge to make my being healthy and stress free a priority during the busy winter months full of birthdays, holidays, colds, work and whatever else. I was skipping my usual work outs because I was exhausted and reaching for junk. It was time to make a change and make myself a priority.
I’ve learned so much. Finding the time for yourself and doing something psychical is a game changer for stress! My favorite finding is that even 10 minutes counts – it makes a change! It’s not about the 1 hour gym session full of cardio. Mashing up work outs every day has made me feel so strong and it’s been an awesome creative challenge. Thanks Pinterest!
Last, even though this is for me and only me, it’s been so fun to have my family cheer me on! So thanks to them for being the coolest, cutest, craziest crew that I love.
So here is a quick snapshot through my #100fitdays …
Last but not least, DAY 100!! I woke up early to do some yoga, start my IV of coffee & get organized for the day before the kids wake up.
I hope you like my first post. Check out my About Me Page to learn more about why I’m SO EXCITED for this blog!
Today was a full ay of home renovation contractor mess. Needless to say, today’s workout was geared towards stress relief, so I decided on headstands for fun and then a cool plank series I saw on Pinterest.
Someone told me they do a head stand for 5 minutes a day and it’s a huge stress release for them. I thought that sounded like fun, plus this is really my single most glorious skill from my 4 year old gymnastics career – minus foam pit jumping. I can’t believe 1. how fun it is and 2. how it works your triceps! And it worked….as my husband Chris and I laughed by the fire at my ridiculousness, the perspective that I’ve gained from life slid from me feet, where it’s been hiding, to my brain (thanks gravity) and I realized how grateful I am for my family and our health and I don’t give a hooty hoot about contractor problems. It will all work out in the end and duh home renovation is one of life’s bumpier roads.
